Obituary for
Donna Mae Bylund
Donna Mae was born on September 14, 1931 in Minneapolis, MN, to Arthur and Laura Westrum. She passed away peacefully in Murrieta, CA just before her 85th birthday.
In September 1950 she married the love of her life, her childhood sweetheart Ed Bylund. They had 4 children and moved to California in 1962.
At an early age, Donna loved music and excelled in piano, playing as Church organist for many years. After the children were in school, Donna went back to school herself and earned her Bachelor and Master’s degrees. She had a rewarding career in Public Education and after retiring she became a top realtor.
Donna and Ed were avid Bridge players and enjoyed entertaining family and friends. Donna continued her love of music by accompanying the “Colony Chorus” for 12 years, where they lived. She also substituted as pianist for her church.
Donna is survived by her husband of 66 years, Ed Bylund, son Brad (Donna), daughters Bonnie, Darcy Johnson (Dave), and Pam Newell (Scott). She is blessed with grandchildren Tori Thelen (Chase), Courtney Pendleton (Kevin), Bryan (Mel), Laura, Kristy, Josh (Erin), Brett (Guerrin); and great-grandchildren Maddy, Jake, Emma, Natalie, Emily, Buck and Oliver, Sister Carole Blitstein,
as well as nieces Laura, Joanne, Judy, and nephews Patrick and Jerry.
In lieu of flowers the family would welcome donations to either Murrieta United Methodist Church Music Ministry, or Cure PSP (www.psp.org)
